After resting on its foundation at Church Street for more than 100 years, the Wilsonville Masonic Lodge sat in a new location some 800 feet away following a 30-minute trip last Thursday.

The relocation was part of an effort to preserve the historic building while making room for an expansion project at Wilsonville Baptist Church.

The building has been the home of Wilsonville Lodge No. 510 since the group was chartered in 1921, said Gordon Fluker, a member of both the lodge and the church&8217;s building committee.

The structure was originally a one-story Presbyterian church built in the late 1800s, Fluker said.

The church hired a company to move the building to its new location on Ball Park Road to make room for a multi-purpose building to house worship services, a fellowship hall and educational space.

&8220;It looks like it&8217;s very comfortable in its new location,&8221; Fluker said
