Major Berl Everett Lightfoot, 89, of Verbena, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007, after a short illness. Lightfoot was born in Alabama on June 15, 1917.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, April 11 at 2 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home. Visitation was held two hours prior. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be sent to First United Methodist Church of Clanton at P.O. Box 1976, Clanton, AL 35045. Charter Funeral Home in Calera directed.
