John Turner Gamble III

John Turner &8220;Johnny&8221; Gamble III, 29, of Chelsea passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007.

Johnny was born in Birmingham and graduated from Thompson High School. He attended the University of Montevallo and Wallace State where he played baseball. He graduated from Southern Union.

He was a project manager with Kevin Miller Development Inc. Johnny was a wonderful son, husband, father and friend. His great smile and kind heart will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Alana Schmidt Gamble; son, Jackson &8220;Jack&8221; James Gamble; parents, John and Karen Gamble of Alabaster; aunts, Pat Ammons of Hoover and Benny Peter of Hoover; uncles, James E. Pierce of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jeffrey L. Pierce of Santa Fe, N.M., and Stephen E. Pierce of Baltimore; in-laws, Richard and Diane Schmidt of Alabaster; sister-in-law, Jamie (Mike) Simpson of Calera; nephew, Isaac Simpson; and a host of family and friends.

The family received friends Tuesday, May 14

from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 16 at 11 a.m. He will be buried at Southern Heritage Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Keith Kirkland, Richard Hines, Mark Epperson, Michael Simpson, Bill Strazewski, Kevin Miller, Scott Ingram and Robbie Shaw.

A fund for his family has been set up at Wachovia.
