Adam Moseley has been checking the forecast several times a day for the past few weeks, and he says the outlook for Alabaster residents is good &8212; really, really good.

Alabaster&8217;s fifth annual CityFest, June 2 at Municipal Park, will be bigger and better this year on all fronts, from music to vendors to children&8217;s activities, said Moseley, president of the Alabaster Arts Council.

And, he said, it promises to have beautiful weather to boot.

&8220;This will be the best yet,&8221; he said. &8220;We have really big musical acts this year &8212; Diamond Rio and Gin Blossoms. There&8217;s going to be something for everybody, with 50 vendors &8212; our biggest ever &8212; and lots more attractions.&8221;

One highlight will be the addition of a second stage where music will play all day long, Moseley said.

The arts council is also stepping up the Classic Car Cruise-In, held from 9-11 a.m. The display of vintage automobiles made its debut last year.

&8220;This year it will be front and center,&8221; Moseley said.

The KidsFest area will offer an even larger helping than last year of free inflatables, games and activities, plus the Lowe&8217;s Kids Build It Workshop and hours of songs by area musician Jim Aycock.
