Douglas &8220;Doug&8221; Andrew Gardner, 47, of Pelham passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, as a result of an accident at his residence.

Gardner was born on April 25, 1960, in Arlington, Va., to Wilbur Lewis Gardner Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Haislip. He was the owner of Gardner Masonry Co. in Pelham.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Marie &8220;Joy&8221; Brasher Gardner of Pelham; children, Lindsey Paige (Forrest) Swaffield of Daphne, Tommy Lee Gardner of Mountain Brook, Brian Andrew (Jenny) Gardner Jr. of Dataw Island, S.C.; sisters, Susan Cline of Fairhope, Winnifred (Terry) Carlisle of Slapout; brother, John (Alicia) Gardner of Shalimar, Fla.; mother-in-law, Jewel Marie Brasher of Pelham; one niece and five nephews.

The funeral service was held Saturday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Southern Heritage.

He was buried at the Pelham City Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Schultz and the Rev. Terry Carlisle presided.
