Hidden Creek hosts open barrel race

Hidden Creek Ranch in Sterrett hosted an added money open barrel race and youth class barrel race Saturday, drawing contestants from across Alabama.

In the youth class, Hannah Curlette of Pelham and Grant Hodges of Chelsea took home first and second place in the 1D, while Kyndall Vinsant of Sterrett and Molly Moore of Jemison finished first and second in the 2D. Chelsea&8217;s Sydney Miller finished in second place in the 3D to Camille Smith of Mountain Brook.

Some of the youth riders competed in the Open Class, as Smith won the 4D Open followed by Casey Green. Curlette won first in the 3D, followed by Vinsant, Sara McMillan of Georgia and Laurie Jackson of Sterrett. In the 2D, Montene Trimback of Seale won first, followed by McMillan, Johnell Bryant of Montgomery and Moore. Bryant took first in the 1D, followed by Russell Tucker of Wedowee, Trimback and Mark Tucker of Wedowee.
