Funeral service for Ernest C. Hughes, age 68, of Columbiana, was at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2007, at Bolton-Letlow Chapel with the Rev. Lee Walton and Bro. Charlie Loyd officiating. Burial followed Old Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hughes, who passed away on Friday, July 6, 2007, at his home, was born on June 2, 1939 in Columbiana. He was a member of the Church at Lay Lake and retired from National Standard.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Hughes; a daughter, Gay Brown; two sons, Steve Hughes and Howard (Joan) Hughes; one grandson, Scott Hughes; one granddaughter, Shae Brown all of Columbiana; two sisters, Inez Blackerby of Columbiana and Kathy Morris of Maplesville; and a brother, Raymond Hughes of Columbiana
