Ron Gore (10/27/1945 – 6/29/2007), 61, died at his home in Redmond, Wa. surrounded by his family following an impressive ten-month battle against pancreatic cancer.

After earning his diploma from Shelby High School in Columbiana in 1964, Ron earned his bachelor&8217;s degree from Auburn University in 1969. In 1973, he married Sarah Johnson from Jemison and moved to the Northwest to further his career with Allis Chalmers. In 1980, he opened the sales office of Gore Electric with one employee in a small Redmond office. Within a few years, his brother Allen joined him and the company grew to service Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Northern Idaho, and British Columbia.

Ron recently received the NWPPA Award of Appreciation for 25 plus Years of Service to Northwest Utilities for his work in the heavy electrical engineering community.

Ron was a man of varied interests; he enjoyed painting, glass art, gardening, NASCAR, bull riding and activities with friends and neighbors. He managed Little League and was active in the Kiwanis Club for a number of years; he also loved to cook and try new concoctions – he was most proud of his baby back ribs and his dynamite chili that won an award in 2005.

Preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Gore, Ron is survived by his wife, Sarah Gore, of Redmond; son, Bryan Gore and his wife Tiffany of Palo Alto, Calif.; daughter, Brandy Gore of Seattle; his mother, Daphene Gore of Columbiana; and his brothers, Russell Gore of Fayetteville, Ga. and Allen Gore of Woodinville, Wa.

Visitation will be held on July 14 at 10 a.m. at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home in Columbiana followed by a Memorial Service to celebrate his life at 11 am.
