Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Spaeth of Equality and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sims of Riverside are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brandi Jan Sims, of Montgomery to Richard Allen Myrick of Wetumpka, son of Karen Myrick of Wetumpka and Mr. and Mrs. James Myrick of Titus.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Alice Armstrong of Pelham, the late Walter Armstrong of Alabaster, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sims of Montevallo, the late Dot Sims of Maylene and the late Mr. and Mrs. David Spaeth of Montgomery. She is a 2000 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and is employed by Alabama Power.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Reba Broyles of Tuscaloosa, the late Otis Broyles of Tuscaloosa, Mary Myrick of Montgomery and the late Robert Myrick of Montgomery. He is a 1994 graduate of Wetumpka High School and is self-employed.

The couple plans to wed Sept. 22, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Eastmont Baptist in Montgomery
