Etter wins Assistants Championship

INVERNESS – Cory Etter fired a two-under par round of 69 Tuesday, for a two round total of 144, to come from behind and win the Dixie PGA TaylorMade-adidas Assistants Championship held at Inverness Country Club. Etter made up a three shot deficit to eclipse first round leader Pope Spruiell by one stroke.

In addition to winning the tournament, Etter earns the chance to compete in the PGA of America’s TaylorMade Assistant’s Championship this October. Etter will be making a return appearance having repeated as the Dixie Section’s Assistant Champion.

Derek Ryder had the second best round of the second day, a 71, to move up to third place at 146.
