Funeral service for Ovelene White Parrish, age 75, of Wilsonville, will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Wilsonville Baptist Church. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery in Jasper. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wilsonville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Parrish, who went home to heaven Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, was born on Feb. 15, 1932, in Walker County. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Parrish, and a brother, Clifford White.

She was a member of Wilsonville Baptist Church and retired from Southern Company Services. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Ira Gore, nurses and staff of Bruno’s Cancer Center.

She is survived by her husband, Dorris E. “Pete” Parrish; sons, Gary R. Parrish and Timothy W. (Charlotte) Parrish; a daughter-in-law, Patti Parrish; grandchildren, Daniel E. (Linda) Parrish, David A. (Jeni) Parrish, Kim (Keith) Montgomery, Brian (Stephani) Riley, and Rachel (Tim) White; great-grandchildren, Heather and Adam Montgomery, Raine Wadsworth, Rachel Riley, Mercy Marie and John Edward White; sisters, Margie Ingle, Patricia McClanahan; brothers, Paul (Bonnie) White, Howard (Alva) White, Jerry (Jane) White, Perry (Renee) White, Thomas (Stephanie) White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Wilsonville Baptist Church Building Fund.
