Pearl Overby Carlile, age 81, of Scottsboro, formally of Birmingham, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, in Columbiana.

Pearl Pauline Overby Carlile was accomplished in many areas during her life. First and foremost, she was a Mother Extraordinaire: teaching, encouraging, assisting, pushing or pulling. She helped manage restaurants. She gave her all when needed as a caregiver. She helped those in need by donating clothing and other items she had obtained through gift or purchase for that purpose. She did for others rather than doing for herself. Surmise it to say, she was a Christian in the truest sense of the word and will be sorely missed.

Pearl is survived by her four sons, Richard, Joe, Jimmy and Bobby; three daughters, Freida Cleckler, Ruby Cardwell and Gertrude Carlile. She has 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

There will be visitation held Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, from 6-9 p.m. The service will be held Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at John Ridout’s Funeral Parlors. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery
