Funeral service for Doris Abernathy, age 69, of Calera, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at Montevallo Church of God. Burial will follow at Ryan’s Crossing.

Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Abernathy, who passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at a local hospital, was born June 29, 1938, in Chilton County.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James W. Abernathy; seven daughters, Leah Pearson, Sherry Norris, Maria Kinstler, Robin Rose, Juanita Coggins, Deanna Hill and Darlene Abernathy; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; and other family and friends.
