Hoover Fire Department and the Middle Alabama Area Agency for the Aging were awarded scholarship grants for a training conference.

E.J. Munnerlyn, fire inspector for Hoover, Leila Heptinstall and Lippert-Flick from the Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging will participate in the workshop.

The conference, hosted by the National Fire Protection Association’s Center for High-Risk Outreach, is aimed at developing fire prevention programs for the elderly. It will be held Dec. 2-4 in Boston
