CommuteSmart began two new initiatives aimed at reducing traffic in the Shelby County area.

GetGreen and the Commuter Club are plans the company has developed to reward commuters who make a conscious effort to reduce the amount that they drive on a daily basis.

GetGreen offers commuters two dollars per day, or up to $120 over 90 days for anyone willing to change their daily commute from driving alone to a qualified commute alternative.

The Commuter Club is another incentive plan which keeps track of those qualified commuting alternatives, and rewards participants with a $25 gift card on a quarterly basis for those who log at least 20 qualified commute trips
