The 2007 football season has reached its midway point, and Shelby County High School leads the county in team rushing offense with 1,296 yards on the ground.

Tailback Tyrone Buie, who is second in Shelby County, leads the team with 679 yards on 79 carries, while fullback Darion Sutton is fourth in the county with 522 yards on 136 attempts. The two have combined for 13 rushing touchdowns.

Calera is second in the county in rushing yards with 1,279. The big differences were Buie and Sutton’s dominating performances two weeks ago at home in a upset over Calera. The Wildcats held the Eagles to -6 yards rushing.
