Lucille Noble Byrd

Lucille Noble Byrd, of Wilton, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Byrd Sr. She is survived by her son, Robert M. Byrd Jr. (Sylvia); grandson, Stephen Lance Byrd (Dana); granddaughter, Stephanie Renee Fochtmann (Scottie); and four great-grandchildren, Beaux Byrd, Tyler Byrd, Nicole Fochtmann and Natalie Fochtmann.
She graduated from Carraway School of Nursing and pursued a career in many locations as a registered nurse. She retired as a RN after working 15 years for Dr. W.S. “Bill” Mitchell in Calera.
Along with her husband and son, she moved to Montevallo in 1950, and they began a family farm currently known as Green Valley Farms. She was also a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church in Centreville, who cared for her so tenderly over the past eight years.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, Oct. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco’s Funeral Home in Montevallo. There will be a graveside service 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Salem Cemetery on Highway 15 in Montevallo, with the Rev. Tom Hammett officiating.
