The No. 15 University of Montevallo Falcons received four overall champion votes in last week’s Gulf South Conference pre-season coaches’ poll, as they were selected to win their fourth GSC tournament title in five years.

The Falcons are also selected to win the East Division ahead of the University of North Alabama and Valdosta State University who tied for second. The University of Alabama-Huntsville was picked fourth, followed by the universities of West Georgia, West Florida and West Alabama.

UM begins the 2007-08 regular season on Friday, Nov. 16 as the host of the UM Coca-Cola Classic. The No. 15 Falcons will meet No. 9 Augusta State University for a non-conference game, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
