Mavis Olene Whitfield Wilson Parker, of Chelsea, passed away Oct. 20, 2007.

Olene loved making memories for her family. Every holiday was filled with laughter, fun and food. She loved worshipping the Lord, being with her friends, camping and getting her hair fixed every Thursday. She was loved and will be missed by many.

Graveside services were held at Valhalla Cemetery Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at 1 p.m. Valhalla Funeral Home directed. Olene was preceded in death by her parents, O.H. and Flora Whitfield; husband, James A. Wilson; brothers, T.A., Dolan, Gorman and Buster Whitfield.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Willie James Parker Sr.; sons, Larry (Pam) Wilson, Lamar (Sharon) Wilson, David (Jan) Wilson, Lonnie (Cathy) Wilson, Jim (Wanda) Parker, Jerry (Janet) Parker; one daughter, Laura Parker. She was “Nanny” to 18 grandchildren and “Nanny O” to 13 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by sisters, Judy Lee, BeBe Sessions and Betty Jo Dado as well as many nieces and nephews.
