The Hoover Belles will be accepting applications Nov. 1-Dec. 7. The Belles were established in 1980 as a way to promote the quality of life in Hoover.

To be eligible a female would need to be a sophomore in high school, a resident of Hoover, maintain a 2.5 GPA and enjoy civic events. The Belles participate in a variety of community service events for the Hoover Mayor, Aldridge Gardens, the Hoover Recreation and the Regions Golf Tournament.

Anyone who is accepted will participate through her junior and senior years.

Each Belle is responsible for a $200 fee and the cost of the antebellum gown and accessories
