From the pulpit: Fear robs us of joy

We have nothing to fear but fear itself.

Fear means to be afraid or feel anxious or apprehensive about a possible or probable situation or event. It means to be scared of, or frightened of something.

In II Timothy 1:7 God says he has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Fear robs us from truly knowing God in his love, power and might. It robs us from the blessings that God has for us.

Fear keeps us limited, confined and inside of the box. It hinders us from stretching, developing, growing and reaching the levels or dimensions that God has and is calling us to reach.

Fear is a stronghold that forms in our life through insecurities, heartbreaks, death, sicknesses, mindsets, generational curses, past pains or sins, etc.

It stops the flow of God’s healing waters in our life.

Fear can hold up your healing and your deliverance from a thing. The Bible says in James 5:16 that we are to confess our faults one to another so we can be healed. There is healing if we confess. We miss the deliverance because the enemy uses fear as a tool to keep us bound because when I don’t confess my faults, there is no healing.

Remember death and life are in the power of the tongue. Fear hinders my healing because the enemy will make you too think nobody cares about you, nobody wants to listen, or when you tell them they’ll only make light of your situation and reject you the more.

So then the spirit of fear comes in and says you can’t trust anyone and builds walls, and like Jericho no one can get in and no one can get out.

So there is no deliverance or healing. But God wants to deliver us because He is love and He loves us.

In I John 4:18 God says there is no fear in love.

Remember God is not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.

Whoever the son (Jesus) has set free is free indeed. Be free, be healed, be delivered and be whole.
