UM’s Maloney repeats as GSC Men’s Soccer Player of the Year

Montevallo forward Jonathan Maloney was named GSC Player of the Year for the second consecutive season Thursday, becoming the first player in GSC history to unanimously win the award in consecutive years. Lincoln Memorial’s Frederico Moojen was Co-Player of the Year in 2004 before capturing the top laurel in 2005.

Maloney, a junior from West Yorkshire, England, earned GSC Player of the Week honors three times this season and also became the Falcons’ all-time leading scorer, leading the GSC with 20 goals and nine game-winners. The standout forward was also a unanimous First Team All-GSC selection for the second straight year.

Defender Adam Frazer also earned First Team All-GSC honors for the fourth-straight season, along with junior midfielder James Ward. Glen Murphy, Jim Witherow and Otavio Tramontina earned second team honors.
