Funeral service for John Branson, age 73, of Shelby, will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, at Bolton-Letlow Chapel. Burial will follow at Shelby Garden of Rest. Visitation was Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Branson, who passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at a local hospital, was born Jan. 23, 1934, in Bonair. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church of Shelby.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Branson; children, Jan (Ken) Teachey and Alan (Lisa) Branson; grandchildren, Will, Branson and Jake Teachey, Brittany and Katie Branson; and a host of other family and friends.
