Graveside service for Bertha Cosper, age 93, of Wilsonville, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2007, at Pinelawn Gardens with Bro. Jim Smith and Bro. Steve Thomas officiating. The family will honor your visits from 11 a.m. until time for funeral at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home in Columbiana.

Mrs. Cosper, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at a local nursing home, was born on October 15, 1914. She was a member of Wilsonville Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and held various office positions in the church. Mrs. Cosper was a Teacher/Principal in the Shelby County School System (1936-1979) first at Horner Elementary School, then at Wilsonville Elementary School, Columbiana Elementary School, Valley Elementary School and Columbiana Middle School.

Upon retirement she continued teaching at Coosa Valley Academy in Harpersville. She cherished all the students she taught, as well as those who worked with her in the system. Mrs. Cosper loved her community. She served on the Wilsonville Town Council for several terms. Mrs. Cosper was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis H. Cosper and a daughter, Jane Kennedy.

She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Liveoak; grandchildren, Joanne Kennedy (Eddie) Carter, Cristen Liveoak (Charles) Dillard; great-grandchildren, Lauren Carter, Ethan Carter; sister, Vesta (Robert) Dorsey; special cousin, Lois Wilcox Burnett and a host of cousins too numerous to mention and many, many wonderful friends.

Those wishing, may contribute to the Building Fund at Wilsonville Baptist Church in her memory. The Pall Bearers will be Jim Bolton, Jim Blackmon, Bill Eastis, Calvin Gill, Charles Morris, Reed Smith.
