Onnie M. Mason

Funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Onnie M. Mason, 88, of Attalla, who died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007. David Manojlovich and Howard Warren officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directed.

Mr. Mason was born in Wilsonville on March 15, 1919, the triplet son of Thomas and Elizabeth Mason. He was a carpenter and cabinetmaker for many years and retired from AAA Plumbing and Pottery. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Novelene Mason; brothers, Herbert Mason, Vernon Mason, S.J. Mason; triplet brother, Johnny Mason; and sisters, Lela Walton and Ila Kirkland.

He is survived by his son, Chris Mason (Nancy) of Gadsden; grandchildren, Betsy Mason, Tyler Mason (Jodi) and Miles Mason; brother, Lonnie Mason; sisters, Mary Joiner and Lucille Howard; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Billy Baldwin, Bill Brown, Cecil Faulkner, Tyler Mason, Miles Mason and Billy Mason.

Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Willingham, Richard Short, Joe Burden, Bryon Burden, Lynn Burden, David Mason, Tommy Mason, Larry Mason and Harvey Mason.

Thanks for the friendship of neighbors, Bill and Nan Brown, Billy and Madron Baldwin, Charles and Daphene Horton, Mr. Newbourn and the McCoy family.

Special thanks to caregiver, Jane Simmons and Kathy Hilton and the entire Wiregrass Hospice staff and Dr. Kent Tucker, Dr. Dwight Harper and Dr. John Pirani.
