FROM STAFF REPROTS

Haley Payne recently entered delayed entry with the United States Army.

This will allow Rogers to enter duty one year from now. She will be able to travel, learn a skill and possibly receive $50,000 toward school. After completion of training, soldiers receive advanced individual training in their career job specialty prior to being assigned to their first permanent duty station.

Payne will report to Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C., for basic training in July 2008. She is the daughter of Dana Payne of Pelham and David Payne of Chelsea.
