Jeffrey Raymond Adams, age 45, of Jemison, died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007. A 10-year veteran of the U.S. Army, he was proudest of his tenure as a Ranger.

He will lovingly be remembered and missed by his mother and step-father, Eva and Robert Henderson; his father and step-mother, George and Diane Adams; his brother, Kenneth Adams; his sisters, Rebecca Adams and Carol Brown; and special friend, Dannell Mallory.

Jeff’s legacy is that of a compassionate man whose heart overflowed with love and concern for those less fortunate than himself, especially animals.

“Not to hurt our humble brethren [the animals] is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough, We have a higher mission: To be of service to them whenever they require it.” – St. Francis of Assisi.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 from 4-6 p.m. at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Jeff’s memory to the Shelby County Human Society, 381 McDow Road, Columbiana, AL 35051
