Kristi Martin scored 17 points and made a key basket late in the game to help lift the University of Arkansas-Monticello to a 73-69 victory over the University of Montevallo at the Ouachita Baptist University Lady Tiger Classic in Arkadelphia, Ark., Friday.

Erika Brown added 11 points and hit the go-ahead basket, giving UAM (5-2) a 70-69 lead with two minutes remaining. Martin scored her last basket with a minute left and a UAM free throw closed out the scoring. Katie Vanderhyden led UM with 19 points on 9-of-10 shooting. Tiaren Young added 13 points.

UM (2-5) will play host Ouachita Baptist Saturday at 3 p.m
