Jerry Ray Moody

Jerry Ray Moody, age 56, of Wilsonville, passed away Dec. 4,

2007, at his home. He is survived by son, Jerry Reid Moreland (Stacey) of Centerville and daughters, Suzette Moody of Shelby and Bridget Chandler (Shannon) of Shelby; grandchildren, Amanda Askins, Emily and Ivy Moreland, Daniel Moody, Tristan and Lexi Chandler; mother, Sarah Mae Moody; brothers, Charles “Butch” Collum, Ricky Moody, Bobby Moody; sister, Fredia Smitherman; and a host of nieces, a nephew and lots of friends.

His family would like to thank Barbara and Bob Shinpaugh, Kathy Stough, Linda Porter and Tara Nash for

their support during this time.

Mr. Moody was an active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. This year, he was the Exalted Ruler of Bessemer Elks Lodge No. 721 and State Chairman of Lodge Activities. An Elks Memorial Ritual and Life-Celebration will be held in his honor at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at the Bessemer Elks Lodge.
