Briarwood quarterback Barrett Trottet and Spain Park defensive lineman William Green were recently named as two of the Alabama Sports Writers Association Super 12 players. Trotter and Green were also chosen as ASWA All-State selections for their respective classes. Spain Park’s Trey Del Greco was named as the Class 6A kicker, while head coach John Grass was chosen as the 6A Coach of the Year.

In 5A, Briarwood’s Matthew Gordon and Bo Walters were also chosen as All-State selections.

In 3A, Calera’s Earl Haynes was named as an All-State wide receiver, while quarterback Paul Winterbottom was selected as an honorable mention.

Cornerstone Christian’s Austin Vinsant and Kirk Johnson were also named as honorable mentions in AISA
