Eugene Burt Landers, age 78, of Sylacauga passed away Jan. 20, 2008, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.

Funeral service was Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. Burial followed at Childersburg Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Hickman presiding. Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel from 6-8 p.m.

Landers is survived by two daughters, Pam Barbee of Birmingham and Sue Hartman of Montevallo; three grandchildren, Randilynn Martin of Montevallo, Ken Joiner of Columbiana, and Whitney Jernigan of Hoover; four great-grandchildren; sister, Justine Johns of Childersburg; brother, Jimmie Landers of Childersburg.

Pallbearers were Danny Barbee, Donald Hartman, Max Cantrell, Jay Martin, Ken Joiner and Eddie Morris.

Landers served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
