Samantha Danielle Howell

Mrs. Samantha Danielle Howell, born in Alabama on Sept. 12, 1976, passed away Jan. 28, 2008, at a local hospital, at the age of 31.

She was a resident of Calera, where she worked as a dispatcher for the Calera Police Department for several years and a substitute teacher with the Calera Elementary School.

Funeral services were held at Charter Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m., with pastor Steve Thomas officiating. Following her service, a release of doves ceremony was held. Burial was in Columbiana City Cemetery. Visitation was held at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

Her husband, Phillip Howell preceded her in death in 2006.

Survivors include her mother, Myra Kimbro; sons, Ethan James and Clayton Justice Howell, both of Calera; aunts, Joan Stinson (J.D.) and Sue Kimbro, all of Wilsonville; uncles, Glen Kimbro (Hazel) of Dozier, Ray Kimbro (Nanette) of Liveoak, Fla.; and Edward Kimbro (Debra) of Greenville; father-in-law, James Howell (Helen) of Jemison; sister-in-law, Rachael Martin (Walter) of Columbiana; and a host of cousins and friends.
