Funeral service for Joyce Evelyn McCranie Rowe, age 81, of Harpersville, was held Sunday, March 2, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Harpersville with the Rev. Leon White and the Rev. Phil McMillan officiating. Burial followed at Harpersville Cemetery. Visitation was held Saturday, March 1 from 5:30-8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Harpersville.

Mrs. Rowe, who passed away Feb. 29, 2008, at Coosa Valley Medical Center, was a member of First Baptist Church of Harpersville. She was also a 1944 graduate of Vincent High School.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Jenny) Rowe of Birmingham; daughter, Kathy (Eddie) Elliot of Daphne; brothers, Harold “Bud” (Patsy) McCranie and Walter “Chick” (Grace) McCranie, both of Harpersville; sisters, Vivian (Alfred) Randall of Dothan and Nannette (Wilburn “Junior”) Fraser of Harpersville; grandchildren, Dane Elliot, Abby Elliot, Tori Mitchell, Corbin Mitchell and Ally Mitchell.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Rowe.
