Spain Park boys’ golfer Trey Del Greco placed second in the Blue-Gray golf tournament in Montgomery March 4, helping Spain Park to a second-place finish over teams such as Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, Auburn and Hoover. Del Greco shot an even-par 72 to tie for the lead on the first day of the tournament at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club, but shot three-over par in the final round.

Fort Payne swept the tournament, edging Spain Park by seven strokes, 616-623, and taking the individual title with Will McCurdy finishing two strokes ahead of Del Greco and Athens’ Craig Whitt.

Spain Park’s Michael Johnson and Gabe Hyde were 12th overall with a two-day score of 155
