Crafty kids spring into a new tradition

A spring twist on the Christmas gingerbread house kept children busy creating and nibbling during the March Crafty Kids Club at the Albert L. Scott Library in Alabaster.

Children created one-of-a-kind “Easter huts” – a spring version of gingerbread houses.

Julie Littleton of Alabaster was the workshop leader.

Families used graham crackers, colored icing and an assortment of pastel-colored Easter candy, including egg-shaped and bunny-shaped sweets, to make their creations. A special touch was green grass made of dyed coconut
