Combat Sport Championships II presented by Hooters of Homewood is coming to Pelham March 29. With four shows planned for this year at the Pelham Civic Complex, Saturday’s show is gearing up to be the most attended MMA event in Alabama, according to CSC owner Fred York.

“Ticket sales are higher than we originally expected and we are making provisions to accommodate more spectators,” York said in a press release.

York said the event will feature more state wrestling champions than have ever appeared on a single MMA card in Alabama and will also include a National Champion and local wrestling legend John Salter (Gardendale).

Joey “The War Machine” Marimberga is the main event.

York said CSC does not employee street fighters, but fighters who have been properly trained.

CSC will also be donating a portion of the proceeds to Brandon Cato, a high school wrestler who sustained a spinal injury in the fall while wrestling.

Official weigh-ins will be held Friday night at the Hooters of Homewood on Lakeshore Drive. Weigh-ins start at 5:30 pm. All fighters and ring girls, as well as the CSC staff will be in attendance.

Tickets to CSCII are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Floor seats are $30 and ringside seats are $40. Tickets are available online at http://www.instantseats.com/events/combat.
