Charles and Martha Catchings of Alabaster announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Louise Catchings, to Robert Matthew Wilsie, son of Bob and Belinda Wilsie of Hixson, Tenn.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. on July 12, 2008, at Northport Baptist Church with a reception to follow at The Zone in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Wanda Catchings of Sylacauga and the late Mr. Olen Charles Catchings and Mr. and Mrs. BH Nunnelley of Birmingham.

Laura is a 2002 graduate of Thompson High School and attended The University of Alabama where she received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

She is employed in Tuscaloosa.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Capt. and Mrs. F.E. Wilsie and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Meeks.

Matt is a 1997 graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended The University of Alabama where he received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

He swam for The University of Alabama swim team.

He is employed in Tuscaloosa
