Milene Panzica of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School was recently named a runner-up for the national Toyota Family Literacy Teacher of the Year Award.

Toyota and the National Center for Family Literacy recognized her success in working with multiple generations to increase literacy in families whose native language is not English.

Panzica received a scholarship to the National Conference of Family Literacy and a $500 grant for travel expenses
