Betty Jean Rimmer Motes, 65, born Oct. 8, 1942, of Pelham passed away May 2, 2008.

Mrs. Motes is the daughter of the late H.T. and Dot Rimmer of Clanton. She was preceded in death by stepsons, Ricky Motes and Rodney Motes, and daughter-in-law, Loreta Ellison.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William Earl Motes of Pelham; four sons, Chris Ellison, Henry Ellison, Mark Ellison and Duane (Cindy) Motes; stepdaughter, Rhonda Motes; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Rimmer Brewer of Antioch, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, May 5 from 5-8 p.m. Chapel service will be Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, with burial at Oak Mt. Baptist Church.

Pastor Ron Muir will officiate.
