Arora’s “Cars” to be published

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School seventh-grade student Alex Arora recently won second place in the “Margaret Cutchins Student Poetry Contest” sponsored by the Alabama State Poetry Society.

Arora’s poem, “Cars,” will appear in the poetry anthology “The Sampler,” which will be published in the fall and will be contained in the OLV Library.

Arora received a $20 award and a certificate, in addition to the prized publication of his poem.

Other OLV Students recognized in the contest included seventh-grade students Catherine Buttrey’s “Peace” (fifth place), Leah Bostany’s “Virtues,” (honorable mention), Cas Schley’s “Holiday Dreams” (honorable mention) and eighth-grade student Clark Galvin’s “A Way of Life” (honorable mention.
