Rains moving through Central Alabama postponed the first day of the AHSAA softball tournament and canceled spring football games Thursday.

Chelsea High School was scheduled to play in its first state softball tournament in Montgomery Thursday at 10:30 a.m., but its first game against Springville has been delayed to Friday at 8:30 a.m.

Pelham was originally scheduled to play Baker on Friday at noon, but the game has been moved up to 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The Class 5A and 6A championships are scheduled for 7 p.m.

In football, both Vincent’s spring game against Westbrook Christian and Thompson’s Red/White scrimmage have both been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
