Alagasco’s Robinson wins Jefferson State’s award

The Culinary and Hospitality Institute at Jefferson State Community College recently presented the 2008 Janie Green Award to James Robinson of Alagasco.

The award is named for the founder of Jefferson State’s culinary arts program. It is the highest award the college presents for recognition of outstanding support of its culinary arts program.

Robinson was involved in helping the school open its culinary facilities at its Shelby-Hoover campus.

Robinson is manager of national accounts and commercial/institutional foodservice marketing at Alagasco.

A native of Birmingham, he is a graduate of Tuskegee University.

He joined the company in 1985.

Robinson is member and past president of the Southern Gas Association Commercial Marketing Committee. He is a member of the American Gas Association Gas Foodservice Equipment Network. He’s also an associate member of the Birmingham Chapter of the American Culinary Federation and the Alabama Restaurant Association.
