Funeral service for Charlie Willis, 54, of Shelby, was held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2008, at Shelby Church of God with the Rev. Kenneth McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Garden of Rest Cemetery. Visitation ws held Thursday from 6- 8 p.m. at Shelby Church of God.

Mr. Willis, who passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at his home, was born on Sept. 1, 1953 in Shelby County. He graduated from Shelby County High School and received a job at National Standard immediately after graduation. He went to the Shelby Church of God when he was able to go. His health had declined to the point when he could not get out. He was such a caring and devoted man.

He could make anyone laugh, even when they felt bad. He was always a people pleaser and loved helping others. He is preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Ann Willis, brother, Randy Willis and a sister, Brenda Bass.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Willis; daughter, Brandy W. (Marty) Bailey; granddaughters, Bryanna and Marlie Bailey; father, Raymond Willis; sister, Darlene Jones; brothers, Scotty, Rodney, Howard, Roger Willis; nieces and nephews, Kristen and Melissa Willis, Jared Willis, Brandon and Shane White, Miranda Willis and a host of other family and friends.
