Albert Thomas Dennis, age 79, of Pleasant Grove, died May 22, 2008. He was a member of Fellowship of Faith Community Church in Columbiana and was retired from U.S. Steel.

Mr. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Frances House Dennis, and his parents, Lee and Bessie Dennis.

He is survived by his daughters, Beth Varden (Randy), Christy Smith; sons, Allen Dennis (Debbie), Tim Dennis (Pam), Jeff Dennis (Mindy); brothers, Jack Dennis and Wesley Dennis (Marilyn); grandchildren, Jamie Goza (Gary), Julie Horton, (Allen), Jennifer Tolleson (Clint), Leah and Jeremy Varden, Angie Dailey (Clint), Matthew Smith (Amanda), Rebekah Scales (Keeland), Lauren and Lindsey Dennis and Abby and Amanda Dennis; and great-grandchildren, Kinsley, Cadance and Aria Dailey, Alyssa Seals, Kade Goza and River Horton.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Varden, Matthew Smith, Tim Dennis, Jeff Dennis, Randy Varden and Austin Todd.

Funeral services were held at Peoples Funeral Home in Hueytown on Saturday, May 24 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation was held May 23 from 6-8 p.m. Allen Dennis officiated.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Frances Dennis Institute for Pastoral Training in Nicaragua.
