Porter H. Gallups

Funeral service for Harlen Gallups, age 81, of Wilsonville was at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2008, at Bolton-Letlow Chapel with Rev. Steve Thomas officiating.

Burial followed at Harpersville Memory Gardens. Visitation was from 1-2 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home.

Mr. Gallups, who passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008, at a local hospital, was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Shelby County.

Mr. Gallups was a member of Wilsonville Baptist Church in Wilsonville. He served our country during WWII in the Maritime Services and U.S. Army.

He served in Austria, during the early occupation period.

He worked at U.S. Steel Fairfield Line Crew for 38 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marieanne, the mother of his children, by his father and mother, William Porter and Eola White Gallups; brother, Ordice Gallups; sisters, Margaret Ann Robinson and Kathleen G. Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Louise B. Gallups; daughter, Patricia Sue (Steve) Howe; sons, Stephen Ray (Sheila) Gallups, Terry Harlen (Vicki) Gallups, Kenneth Allen Gallups and Phillip Carl (Naysa) Gallups; sisters, Doris Varner, Christine Poer and Mary Poer; brothers, William Gallups and Robert Coy Gallups; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Wilsonville Baptist Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home is directing
