Janet Smith captured the title of Mrs. Alabama International 2008 May 3. Smith lives in Chelsea with her husband, David, and three children. She will travel the state advocating her platform Girls Excel with Mentoring and Sports (G.E.M.S.), as well as continue her work in bringing Girls on the Run (GOTR) to the state of Alabama.

As a coach and mentor Janet works to empower young girls to get active and value their own strength, individuality and inner beauty.

Smith will compete in the Mrs. International 2008 competition July 18-19 in Chicago, Ill. Mrs. International showcases married women 21-56 and includes their husbands as an integral part of the show.
