Kinady Wood, of Shelby, has been named a United States National Award Winner. She received recognition in journalism and for honor roll and leadership.

Wood attends Columbiana Middle School and was nominated by her teacher Mr. Jason Mayfield.

She is the daughter of James Wood and Christy Isbell, both of Shelby. She is the granddaughter of Shelia Walker, of Leesburg, Ga. and Jim and Vivki Wood of Wilsonville.
