Jackson Uptagrafft IV

Funeral service for Jackson Uptagrafft IV were Saturday, May 31, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster. The Rev. Earl Goodwin officiated. Burial followed at Southern Heritage Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, May 30, from 5-8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Uptagrafftt, who passed away May 28, 2008, was born Aug. 30, 1983. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Alabaster and a 2001 graduate of Thompson High School. He was employed by Alabaster Tire and Auto. He had a great love of cars, music and Auburn University. He had many close friends who he considered family.

Jack was a big man with an even bigger heart. He will be greatly missed, but is free from pain now.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jackson Uptagrafft III; grandfather, Col. John A. Akin; grandparents, Jackson Uptagrafft Sr. and Estelle Uptagrafft; and uncle, John Akin Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Kathy Akin Uptagrafft; brother, John Uptagrafft; grandmothers, Vera Uptagrafft and Mary E. Akin; aunts, June Jones and Charlotte Akin; uncle, Roland H. Jones; cousins, Roland L. Jones and Tanya Jones, Olivia Jones and Carson Jones, Amy Akin, Lisa A. Morton and Michael Morton, John A. “Drew” Akin III, Gavin, Hunter, Tucker and Mary Lindsay Morton; and Colonel, his beloved dog.
