David Callaghan, associate professor of theatre and chair of the department of communication arts at the University of Montevallo, will serve as interim dean of UM’s college of fine arts while the search for a permanent dean is under way. A member of the university faculty since 1999, Callaghan holds a B.A. degree from Rider College, an M.F.A. degree in directing from Western Illinois University and the Ph.D. in theater from The City University of New York Graduate Center
