FROM STAFF REPORTS

Students at Columbiana Middle School participated in the “Read More, Read Better” reading program throughout the school year. The program challenges students to read the equivalent of twenty-five books.

As the students read, they log the number of pages read and earn points to bid on silent auction items. Two-hundred and seventy-six students participated in the program. Eighty-five of the students read 25 or more books.

The top readers are chosen based on the number of pages read. The top readers are: Austin Collins, sixth grade, read 17,915 pages; Gabrielle Gannon, seventh grade, read 43,711 pages; and Robyn Roberson, eighth grade, read 25,585 pages.
